Hey Mrs. Grimes,
I have a question about the final,
Is the word repetition on our list of literary terms?

Thanks,
Natalie :D

This is a really important question. It wasn't confusing for me. I think the best things we can ever recieve are things that are not material and even though i admit sometimes i would rather get material things i really think that the things that really matter are the things that you cant feel with your hands but with your heart.

Interesting question! Sorry it took a while to answer!

When one gives a gift, it is usually just for giving. They don't think it through and just give it to you just so they can say that they gave you a gift. When one receives a gift like this, they do thank you, but put it away in a box and don't make any use of it. So a gift isn't all that important.
But when you do think about it, and make the gift personal, it truly effects and moves the receiver. Just like Jacob said, it has to come from the heart to make the person happy. If it doesn't come from the heart and thought, then a gift is nothing. But if it does, it could possibly mean the whole world to that receiver.
Hope

(P.S I wrote an more descriptive answer before, but I forgot to put in the Anti-Spam word and it deleted it. :( This is all I remember of it. :( So yeah. I'm sorry that I couldn't give you a better answer!)

I think that when you give something it makes you feel very happy because you picked something for a specific person and when they see it for the first time, you can't wait to see their face. But, when you recieve something, you feel happy, but you realize that you have too much and feel greedy sometimes for recieving things that you really don't need. But giving and reciving are both good things and most things that we give or recieve are directly from the heart.

When people give and recieve most of human kind might think that the phrase, 'give and recieve', means to give an item or toy to someone. I think that we should try giving more things like love, care, happiness, and peace. Those types of things that you can't really sense with our senses are what really matter in life. I love Lowry's idea about giving memories to someone. It makes you think beyond the box. Anyway, my point is that material objects only last for a certain amount of time but memories and emotions and feelings last forever. Feelings should be cherished more then the tangible item.

I think that most of the things that we give and receive are of material possesion and have no value to the human needs such as feelings. The best things given and received are usually things that are from the heart and will fulfill the emotional needs of a specific individual. These do not nessecerily have to be tangible items just as long as they come from the heart. Forgive me if I spelled anything wrong.

A little confusing, but I think I get it...

To me, giving items such as wisdom or thanks mean much more than giving toys or other material items. Anyone can go buy a new toy because they are always available. Specific toys aren't only on sale from 2 P.M. - 4 P.M. one day, and a different schedule the next. The fact is, material items are widely available.

As for mental items such as wisdom, they come and go. God chooses time for people to give them to you. You have to accept them when the come, not say, "No, I'll go buy my wisdom at Walmart!" See what I mean?

Just like that old saying - 'When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.' That is just it. Take what is given to you as a blessing, don't just take it for granted.
